 “STUFF- A- BAG FOR SALVATION ARMY CHRISTMAS” If you would like to participate in this ministry, please bring in soap (bar and liquid) and washcloths and place in the Salvation Army tub in the foyer. If you have questions, please see Judy Caldwell or Teresa Hubbard. Thank you very much!
 ATTENTION WALMART SHOPPERS – If you have any Walmart receipts that are less than 7 days old, Operation Christmas Child would like to collect them from you…each week. Please give to Wanda or Carmen Webb. Thanks in advance.
ATTENTION LADIES – Please join us for the Living Proof Simulcast with Beth Moore. The event will take place in the worship center at Talatha Baptist Church on September 17th from 10:30a.m. to 5:30p.m. Cost is $15 per person and lunch will be provided.

Since we are not maintaining a church library, we have quite a few books needing a home. Talatha members are welcomed to adopt books before they are donated. Please stop by the storeroom across from grades 1-3 classroom before August 14th to peruse the boxed volumes.  
BUILD-A-BOX FOR OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

If you’re interested in buying for your shoe boxes throughout the year, please contact Wanda Webb to get your shoe box and information packet. It’s a great way to budget and be able to do more boxes. 

February - washcloths and toothpaste

March – Hair brush/comb and toothbrush

April – 2 age appropriate toys

May – Coloring book/art pad and crayons/markers/colored pencils

June – 2 age appropriate fun items. This is a good time of year to shop at Dollar Tree for items such as beach balls, sunglasses, and jump ropes. Reminder---no liquids or glass items.

July – Steno notepad, pencils, pencil sharpener

August - Soap (place in ziplock bag with washcloth)

Candy (individually wrapped and put into ziplock bags). No chocolate, crackers, or snack cakes. (Suggestions – Bubblegum, tootsie rolls, smarties, lollipops and ring pops.)

BACK PACKS FOR APPALACHIA – Bags will be filled by Aiken Baptist Association to be taken to Appalachian Regional Ministries. There is a need for zippered back packs, small toys, school supplies, crayons & markers, hygiene items, socks, t shirts, hats, sun glasses, Legos, and games, costume jewelry, journals, and nerf balls. These items need to be brought to church by Wednesday, August 24th to be delivered to the Aiken Baptist Association by Friday August 26th. For more info please see Sandy Randall.
DOOR GREETERS - We need 8 people to be greeters before Sunday School 9:45a.m. – 10:00a.m. Please see Teresa Hubbard if interested.
ATTENTION ALL BAKERS: The WMU is sponsoring baked goods gifts for Aiken City and County Police Officers, and Public Safety Officers. Please sign up in the Info Room to let us know what you will bring. Please have your goodies individually wrapped (slices of cake, cookies, etc.) and bring to the church by 10:00a.m. on Saturday, September 10th. We will take baskets to each Police station that day. We want to thank those who daily put their lives on the like to protect us here in Aiken.
